Georgy Z Loriya
I am Georgy. I work as an Appian SME at Bank of America. I graduated from University of South Florida (USF) with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Completed my Masters degree in Computer Science from Lewis University. Working towards my second Masters with focus of Human Computer Interaction in Georgia Tech. During my undergraduate years I have been working as Teacher’s Assistant for 3 years and Research Assistant for a year in department of Engineering. On day-to-day basis, I architect and manage multiple Appian applications across Bank of America SegTech Division.
I am passionate about solving puzzles that are bigger than myself. Being part of the team is essential when working with complex problems. I focus on automating manual work and bringing innovative solutions to improve quality of life for developers and end users. Working in SAFE Agile gives great potential for rapid development, but it is important for me to keep the quality of the end product up high. User experience is one of the most important aspects of my development.
What I Do
Appian
Work on day-to-date basis in Appian, develop new objects, enhance existing applications, work with applications architecture; perform code reviews; collaborate with architects on defining best practices and standards; design global reusable components to improve user experience; perform Health Check analysis; investigate potential bugs.
Integrations
Work as part of the developers team team in building and enhancing integration objects; develop and provide support in setting up integration objects pointing to Mulesoft, Box, ILIOS and Banner; update old HTTP Queries with new integration objects; document changes according to industry best practices.
Python
Write scripts to automate repetitive processes, utilize them at work; perform data analysis and visually display information using python; master python during my free time, apply knowledge in side projects during free time.
Scrum & SAFE Agile
Assist product owner during Zero Plannings; facilitate ceremonies in absence of scrum master; help product owner with researching bugs reported by stakeholders; present technical demo during customers review; work closely with management on improving process of existing ceremonies; use JIRA (Issue & Project Tracking software) to keep track of the progress.
SQL
Create and modify tables, views and stored procedures, work daily in Appian Cloud, MYSQL, Oracle; optimize views to reduce load speed; off load data processing work from Appian and perform all necessary manipulations via views and stored procedures; design and update ERDs for complex applications with nested table structures.
